Inspiration from

Ayutthaya

Ayutthaya is a Capture the Flag map in Overwatch. It was released as part of the Year of the Dog event.

The map is divided into two halves. On one side is an ancient temple, on the other is a more modern environment similar to a hotel lobby. Both identical halves cross in a central courtyard marked by an elephant statue.

Unlike previous Capture the Flag maps, the game will not end in a draw if no clear winner is declared when the match time expires. Instead, the game will enter Sudden Death mode, and both teams’ flags will be shifted closer to the courtyard. The team to capture the enemy flag first wins.

As an update to this mode, many characters will drop the flag if a movement-boosting ability is used while they hold the flag, or become unable to grab the flag while said ability is active.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame Salade Niçoise

Ingredients

4 Salmon fillets
2 tbsp Oil
2 tsp Ginger (finely grated)
1 Lemongrass (peeled, finely grated)
1 tbsp Brown Sugar
1 tsp Chilli Garlic Paste
400g Coconut Milk
1 tbsp Fish Sauce
2 tsp Lime Juice
2 portions Noodles (to serve)
2 Spring Onions (chopped, to serve)

For an Overwatch map set in Ayutthaya, Thailand, a Thai dish was certainly on the cards. It’s not too spicy like other Thai curry sauces and the salmon is a majestic ingredient for similarities to the temple and hotel featured in the map.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Sprinkle both sides of salmon with salt and pepper. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a non stick pan or well seasoned skillet over medium high heat. Add salmon, skin side up, and sear for just 1 1/2 minutes until golden. Turn salmon and cook the other side just for 1 minute, then remove onto a plate (should still be raw inside).

Step 2

Turn heat down to medium low and allow skillet to cool. Heat remaining 1 tbsp oil. Add garlic, ginger and lemongrass and cook for 1 minute. Add sugar and cook for 20 seconds until it becomes a caramel. Then stir in chilli paste.

Step 3

Add coconut milk and stir, scraping the bottom of the skillet to dissolve any bits stuck on the base into the sauce. Stir in fish sauce, increase heat to medium. Simmer for 2 minutes.

Step 4

Place salmon into the sauce, lower heat and simmer gently for 4 minutes, or until just cooked. Remove salmon, stir in lime zest and juice to taste. Adjust salt to taste with fish sauce. Serve salmon over noodles. Spoon over sauce, garnish with spring onions.
