iZombie is an American television series that premiered in March 2015 and ended in August 2019. It is a loose adaptation of the comic series with the same name.
Olivia “Liv” Moore was a rosy-cheeked, disciplined, over-achieving medical resident, who had her life path completely mapped out until the night she attended a party that unexpectedly turned into a zombie-feeding frenzy. Afterwards, she became part zombie. She works at a coroner’s office to give her access to the brains she must eat to survive. A side effect of her new diet is the ability to absorb the memories of the deceased, which helps her solve homicides.
Ingredients
3 Garlic Cloves (minced)
1 Lemon (juiced)
1 tsp Parsley (chopped)
2 tbsp Olive Oil
2 Spring Onions (roughly chopped)
2 tbsp Red Chilli Flakes
200g Linguine
120g Cooked Prawns
In each episode, Liv whips up a different meal in the style of a quick video recipe. Of course she is using brains, but it’s always in a creative way, which I quite like. For this recipe I’ve used prawns to imitate the brain colours and look.
Personally I’m not a fan of spicy food, so I’ve only used Red Chilli Flakes as a topper to the dish. You can alternatively chop a red chilli and add with the garlic for an extra kick if you like it spicier. The characters in iZombie do not that hot sauce is the only food they can actually taste so is often added to their dishes!

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Heat lightly salted water in a saucepan until boiling. Lower the temperature and add the linguine until cooked. Then take off the heat, drain and set aside. Reserve 100ml of the pasta water for later.Step 2
Heat a frying pan and add the olive oil to the pan. Fry the garlic and spring onion together for a few minutes. Then add the prawns.Step 3
Add the reserved pasta water, parsley and lemon juice and stir well. Add the pasta to the dish and stir to combine.Step 4
Serve the pasta in bowls with a tbsp of red chilli flakes over each dish, then season with some black pepper. Alternatively chop a chilli and add with the garlic for an extra kick!
