Inspiration from
Pirates of the Caribbean
Pirates of the Caribbean is a series of five fantasy swashbuckler films produced by Jerry Bruckheimer and loosely based on Walt Disney’s eponymous theme park ride. The five movies are The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), Dead Man’s Chest (2006), At World’s End (2007), On Stranger Tides (2011) and Dead Men Tell No Tales (2017). It is rumoured there will be a sixth movie in the franchise.
In the original movie, Blacksmith Will Turner teams up with eccentric pirate Captain Jack Sparrow to save Turner’s love, Elizabeth Swann, from cursed pirates led by Jack’s mutinous former first mate, Hector Barbossa. Jack wants revenge against Barbossa, who left him stranded on an island before stealing his ship, the Black Pearl, along with 882 pieces of cursed Aztec Gold.

Ingredients
2 Chicken Breasts (chopped)
2 Oranges (quartered)
2 Red Bell Peppers (chopped)
1 tbsp Honey
2 tsp Rosemary (chopped)
1 tbsp Lemon Juice
250g New Potatoes
4 slices Pineapple
Salad (to serve)
Much like the movies Tomorrowland, The Haunted Mansion and coming next year: Jungle Cruise; The Pirates of the Caribbean movies are actually based upon the Disneyland attractions of the same name. The Pirates ride didn’t excite me as much as other rides in the parks, however the movies were fun to watch.
This meal uses Pineapple and Orange as cures to counter a popular Pirate sickness, Scurvy. I’ve also used metal skewers to replicate the use of swords in the film.
