Inspired by Doctor Who's TARDIS, this Calzone feels like it's bigger on the inside that's filled with a madness of meat and vegetables!
- 150 g Sausagemeat
- 0.5 Onion chopped
- 0.5 Green Bell Pepper chopped
- Olive Oil
- 400 g Sourdough Pizza Base
- 100 g Tomato and Herb Pasta Sauce
- 50 g Mozzarella torn
- Salad optional, to side
Preheat oven to 200°C. In a oiled skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped onion, bell pepper and sausagemeat until the meat is no longer pink. Drain the fat away.
Get a baking tray ready with either greaseproof paper or olive oil. Roll out the pizza dough into a circular shape. Spread the pasta sauce down from the centre over one half but keeping about 3cm away from the edge.
Spoon the meat mixture evenly on top of the sauce. Add the torn mozzarella over too. Pull the empty half of the dough over the filling and pinch the edges together to seal.
Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Once cooked, halve and serve on a plate with a side salad.
