Honestly, Zarya is pretty much bottom of Overwatch characters I play and like. I don’t understand her shields, gun and how to play her. I spend most my time, in Mystery Heroes, right clicking to send grenade like blasts to the enemies and shielding myself and teammates.

However I do like her character. Whilst she was a soldier and weightlifter, which gives her some backstory to help with custom skins, I like that she is distrustful to omnics with a few slightly racist remarks. There are lots of characters that believe omnics (robots) and humans should live and work together. However according to the lore, after a war between the two occurred, it’s great there are characters that are still wary about omnics.

The Hunchback of Notre Dame Salade Niçoise

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion (thinly sliced)
  • 1 Carrot (thinly sliced)
  • 200ml Vegetable Stock
  • 100ml Water
  • 100g Baby Potatoes (peeled and cubed)
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 120g Quinoa
  • 100g Cod fillet (cubed)
  • 100g Haddock fillet (cubed)
  • 100g Salmon fillet (cubed)
  • Dill (garnish)

I’ve gone with a Russian meal inspired by Zarya, a fish soup called an Ukha. However I’ve added Quinoa to the soup as a base as it’s high in protein, dietary fiber, vitamin B, and is gluten free. Given that Zarya is a weightlifter, I wanted a good protein based meal to fill her up!

The fish that I’ve chosen just happen to be the fish in a mix I bought. I bought a fish pie mix which included cod, haddock and salmon. This is much cheaper than buying these fish separately and can be bought from fresh or frozen from your local supermarket. The fish should also be cut and de-boned to use instantly in your meals! If you prefer a different variety of fish, have a go at trying. I always like to include salmon because of its high content of Omega 3.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

In a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium to high heat. Add the onions and cook for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally until the onions are translucent then add the carrot. Cook until the carrots soften (about 5 minutes).

Step 2

Add the stock, water, potatoes, and bay leaf. Season with salt and pepper and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat, cover and cook for 10 minutes. Add the quinoa and cook for a continued 15 minutes until the quinoa and potatoes are cooked.

Step 3 

Gently add the cod, haddock and salmon cubes. Stir and bring the soup to a simmer. The fish should cook through fast so make sure not to overcook them. They are cooked once the flesh is opaque and starts to flake.

Step 4

Garnish the soup with fresh dill and serve.
