Golden Snitch Pasta
Ready In:25 mins
The Golden Snitch, often called simply the Snitch, is the third and smallest ball used in Quidditch. It is a walnut-sized gold-coloured sphere with silver wings. It flies around the Quidditch field at high speeds, sometimes pausing and hovering in place. The Seeker’s goal is to catch the Snitch before the other team’s seeker, which is worth one-hundred and fifty points. The game can only end when the Snitch has been caught, or by mutual agreement of the two teams’ Captains; the latter is very rare, however, as one team would have to lose.
The Quidditch rule also stated that only the two team’s Seeker has the right to catch (or touch) the Snitch, any player other than the Seeker to do so commits a foul called a Snitchnip.
200g Farfalle Pasta
100g Soft Cheese
120g Smoked Salmon
Chives (to garnish)
I’ve done over 80 recipes on this website and I’ve gotten into the habit that when shopping, the food in the aisles inspires me to make new recipes. For example in this recipe, I was shopping for macaroni for the Orange is the New Black meal, I saw some Farfalle and thought it looked like the golden snitch. I thought about other ingredients that would match, like smoked salmon to match the colour of the ball. And that’s how I came up with this dish!
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1Boil salted water in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the pasta and cook on simmer for 15-20 minutes until cooked.
Step 2Once cooked, drain but reserve some of the water and tip back into the pan. Keep the pasta aside.
Step 3Add the soft cheese, lemon juice and smoked salmon. Add some salt and pepper and mix well and heat through to create a creamy sauce.
Step 4Take off the heat and stir in the cooked pasta. Serve in bowls and top with chives.
